RBI Community Projects
The Rice University Building Institute occasionally embraces community projects with relevant reach and impact in the commercial built environment.

Prototype 180
Prototype 180 is a model and conceptual procedure that will transform an existing work of architecture and its program into a dynamic system that is performative. This is accomplished through the deployment of innovation technologies and the establishment of working partnerships with industry, education, government and the private sector. prototype 180 and the Rice Building Institute are partners in this integrated process, a philosophy that is reflected in their approaches and the investigations into the built environment.
